An iPod--the regular full size iPod--is a portable music player with huge capacity, a rechargeable battery good for eight to ten hours of playback, and easy-to-use controls. An iPod mini is a smaller and cuter version with more modest capacity. The iPod mini connects to your Mac or PC (the same as the regular full size ipod), via a fire wire cable or USB cable that enables you to transfer large quantities of song files and other files quickly to the player.
The iPod mini is built around the type of hard drive used in the tinest laptop computer and some consumer electronics such as cell phones that has swallowed a PDA and decided that extra storage would improve their digestion. The iPod mini has most of the capabilities of the regular iPod.

The iPod classic and What It Does
The iPod classic is the sixth generation of regular iPod. The iPod classic is a portable music and video player with a huge capacity, a rechargeable battery good for 8 to 15 hours of music playback (less if you watch a lot of video), and easy-to-use controls
The iPod classic is built around the type of hard drive used in small laptop computers and only 120GB capacity. (The capacity is engraved on the back of the iPod.) Larger hard disks are available. Apple has continued to release higher capactity iPods, so the maximum capacity seem a certain to rise. The more space on the iPod's hard disk, the more songs, video, or other data you can carry on it.
The iPod classic has a 2.5-inch color screen with a reslution of 320x240 pixels, which is call Quarter VGA resolution, or QVGA for short. The screen can display videos, photos, and album covers as well as the iPod's menus, information about the song that's currently playing, and tex-based items, such as your contacts, calendars, and notes.
Below the screen is a control device called th Click wheel. The Click wheel has four buttons bui9lt into it, which you click by pressing the wheel so that it tilts slightly in the required direction. You drag your finger around the surface of the Click wheel to scrool throught items such as menus. You press the selects button or center button, in the middle of the Click wheel, to access the item you've selected by scrolling.
At the top is a headphone socket and a Hold switch that you slide to put the iPod on hold (which locks all the controls) or take it off hold again.
